About McKenzie

McKenzie is a recent graduate of the Medical Illustration graduate program at Augusta University. Her lifelong love of science and her innate artistic abilities led her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Scientific Illustration at the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude in May of 2022. While completing her undergraduate degree, she displayed her work in department exhibitions and received an Award of Merit in Scientific Illustration and an Award of Excellence in Scientific Illustration. She attended Augusta University where she broadened her horizons through attending surgeries, learning the latest techniques and software, and improving her skills as an illustrator and scientific communicator. 

Serving as president of her class, McKenzie enjoyed being an advocate for her peers, convening with faculty, and fulfilling a role of leadership within the department. In her coursework, she strived to push herself artistically and found joy in the independence and level of self-discipline required of being a graduate student. 

She enjoys video production and sharing her creative process on her self-titled TikTok page, allowing her to inspire with millions of people, collaborate with well-known brands, and advocate for the field of biomedical visualization. 

After graduation, McKenzie seeks a career where she is challenged as an illustrator and uplifted as an individual.  She aspires to continue to develop her team leadership skills as well as create impactful visuals for patients, students, and researchers.
